One caveat: in February 2026 there was overseas discussion that the Mac version collects system info about every 30 minutes in the background, but NetEase has not publicly responded and no independent body has fully audited it.

Restart into BIOS (desktop Del or F2, laptop F10/F12/Esc), set Intel Virtualization Technology to Enabled on Intel or SVM Mode to Enabled on AMD, save, exit and restart. If you are sure BIOS already has it on but the emulator still says off, it is usually Windows Hyper-V or Memory Integrity taking the virtualization, so disable those and restart (the official has a dedicated page).

Do not rush to reinstall. Crashing right at game open is most often VT being off or ineffective - in BIOS set Intel Virtualization Technology or AMD SVM Mode to Enabled. Next confirm the install path is English-only and non-system (Chinese/blank paths cause problems) and whether antivirus blocked it during install. It could also be an old GPU driver or the game not matching the current version, so update the driver first.

Black with sound and no picture is usually a render/GPU issue. First switch the render mode in settings (e.g. between DirectX and OpenGL) - most sound-only cases fix with a switch. Then update the GPU driver to the latest and confirm you use a discrete GPU not integrated by mistake. Next confirm VT is on and effective. If still black, restart the emulator or close programs using the GPU in the background. Integrated GPUs or old drivers commonly cause this.

An old or faulty GPU driver is indeed one common cause - update to the latest from the GPU vendor (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel) and retry. But do not fixate on drivers: a black screen can also be a mismatched render mode (switch DirectX/OpenGL in settings), an underpowered integrated GPU, or VT being off causing overall issues. Suggested order: update driver, switch render mode, confirm VT effective, restart the emulator. The official GPU bar is GTX950-class.

An integrated GPU can run it, but the official suggests a GTX950-class GPU or better, well above integrated graphics. Light 2D games barely work, while big 3D games lag and easily show black screens or smearing. If you only have integrated graphics, do: update the GPU driver, switch render modes to find the smoothest, lower graphics and resolution, and single-instance. Ensuring VT is on reduces overall lag. For smooth high-graphics play, a discrete GPU (GTX950-class+) is the safe choice.

The official single-instance bar is a 4-core+ CPU, 4GB+ RAM and VT enabled. Multi-instance stacks this per instance, so add more: for stable multiple instances, 8GB RAM is a starting point and more is better with more windows; more CPU cores is better so each instance gets enough. Do not use too weak a GPU either (official suggests GTX950-class+). Leave host headroom and do not max it out. Low-spec machines max out CPU/RAM and crash with multi-instance, so know your limits.
